My E.Q.

December 5, 2006

I took this E.Q. (emotional quotient) test on our school’s blog. I got a ‘92′.

  • What did you think of the questions?

The questions were… well so obious.

  • Do you think you answered truthfully?

Yup, I really wanted to know my E.Q. grade so I answered truthfully.

  • Are the questions applicable to you at this age?

Uh.. it talks about relationships with people. I think it’s important.

    • What other questions do you think should have been added?

Some other questions that are not obious!

    • What was your score? What does this score mean - according to the website? What does this score mean according to you?

My score was ‘92′. The website said that i’m average. The score means.. I don’t know. I just expected that kind of score as I read the questions. They were like.. “are you bored?”….

    • After taking the EQ assessment, what do you think of it? What will you do now?

Uh.. to the truth, the assessment really didn’t help me. Since I knew that I’m not emo, or have some kind of overreacting-hyper disease.

    Blog Activity #7

    December 4, 2006

Do you think your parents can / should trust you with things that you do in school, at home, and else where? Why do you think so? or Why not?

    Yes,because I believe that I can take some responsibility. Except for cleaning up;;

Do you think your teachers can / should trust you with things that you do in school (regular schoolwork), at home (assignmentss/projects), and else where? Why do you think so? or Why not?

Yes!!!! Because I mostly turn in my hw in time, mostly don’t talk in class, mostly don’t get in trouble. Yes, mostly.

What are your main complaints about school at this point in your life?

I don’t think I have any right now,, school is just fine.

What are your main complaints about home at this point in your life?

I don’t like the way my brother talks, walks, sleeps, laughs, make excuses, breaths, yells, get me in trouble, annoys, or always “have” to stay in my room.

What can you promise yourself that can make you a better person / a better student?

Maybe I’ll start caring more about people around me.. like not fighting back, or try to be more kind?

Do you think your friends can / should trust you with things (objects, secrets, etc.) Why do you think so? or Why not?

Yes, Because I mean they can trust me if they want to. If they can’t trust me, I don’t really care. Well, kind of but not really.

Do you think you need a lot of privacy in school / at home? Why or why not?

YES. I really need privacy especially at home. I don’t need a brother barging in without knocking. Or, stay in my room reading when he can do that in his room!!

      Les Miserables dilemma

      November 20, 2006
      1. In Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables, the hero, Jean Valjean, is an ex-convict, living illegally under an assumed name and wanted for a robbery he committed many years ago. [Actually, no — he is only wanted for breaking parole.] Although he will be returned to the galleys — probably [in fact, actually] for life — if he is caught, he is a good man who does not deserve to be punished. He has established himself in a town, becoming mayor and a public benefactor. One day, Jean learns that another man, a vagabond, has been arrested for a minor crime and identified as Jean Valjean. Jean is first tempted to remain quiet, reasoning to himself that since he had nothing to do with the false identification of this hapless vagabond, he has no obligation to save him. Perhaps this man’s false identification, Jean reflects, is “an act of Providence meant to save me.” Upon reflection, however, Jean judges such reasoning “monstrous and hypocritical.” He now feels certain that it is his duty to reveal his identity, regardless of the disastrous personal consequences. His resolve is disturbed, however, as he reflects on the irreparable harm his return to the galleys will mean to so many people who depend upon him for their livelihood — especially troubling in the case of a helpless woman and her small child to whom he feels a special obligation. He now reproaches himself for being too selfish, for thinking only of his own conscience and not of others. The right thing to do, he now claims to himself, is to remain quiet, to continue making money and using it to help others. The vagabond, he comforts himself, is not a worthy person, anyway. Still unconvinced and tormented by the need to decide, Jean goes to the trial and confesses.
      1. Did he do the right thing?  Why?  Why not?

NO, I don’t agree with that guy. Because like he mentioned before, many livehoods of needy people are in his hands.

      1. What do you think?

I think he should have kept being quiet. I think that just turning himself is kind of selfish. Those needy people’s lives are in his hands!!! Now, who’s going to help those people?

      Ethical Dilemma of Maya

      November 13, 2006

      • If you were Maya’s best friend and had her best interest at heart, what would you suggest she do?

I will tell Maya turn herself in. It’s better then just standing there and feeling guilty. Anyways, the assitant principal from that school is going to call her school. Why not tell her principal and make it easier for herself? Sometimes, people make things way harder than they are.

      • If you were her parent, what do you think you would suggest she do?

To turn herself in. It is the best for Maya

      • What would she have to lose if she turned herself in?

      Nothin

      • What would she have to lose if she didn’t?

Alot. She will lose her parents’, principal’s, teachers’ trust. Told you it is better to turn herself in! They will be disappointed in her because she hid the truth from them

      • Have you or someone you know ever been in a similar situation to this? What happened and how did it turn out? Did you or that person feel regret or pride in the choice made?

Yes,I was in Maya’s situation, but not as in drinking. I said one unhealthy word in the gym after school, and Mr. Shephard got mad at me. Actually I was outside when he got mad, but my friends came and told me that he was mad. They also told me if I don’t turn myself in, Mr. Shep is going to let my friends do the push-ups for me. I decided it’s bad thing if I let my friends do the push-ups, so I turned myself in. Next day, he made me do 10 push-ups only.

      • Do any of you feel Maya is over reacting to this situation? Why or why not?

I don’t think so, unless she doesn’t care what’s going to happen to her. I think she should really turn herself in.

      November 8, 2006

Today was just an other ordinary day. Our math class was a little late today, because we had to solve this 2 questions before we leave. As usual I went to ‘Ktouch’ to practice my typing. THen went to ‘GIMP’ and made a leopard Ipod nano!!! yay.

      My day 11/6/06

      November 6, 2006

We got to sit whereever we pleased. I sat on computer ‘7′.

Today we started on ‘Ktouch’ as always. Still stuck in level 14. After that I went to GIMP to refresh my memories about the graphic design class. Luckily, I remembered some stuff we learned.

Today was same as Friday. Nothing really happened. it was an another exciting school day as usual.

      MY day 11/3/06

      November 3, 2006

As usual I again walked to the lab with Ryan after Math. We started on the ‘Ktouch’ and I moved on to level 15. After at ‘Kturtle’, I finally made a huge circle! Yay for me… After that You Rong got hyper and ran around the classroom. Maybe she had too much candy on Halloween. I tried ‘GIMP’ but decided to comment people instead.

      My day 11/2/06

      November 2, 2006

Today as usual, after math, I walked into the lab with Ryan. We got to seat in any seat we pleased. Then we started on ‘Ktouch’. I got up to level 14! finally! After I worked in ‘ Kturtle’ still working on the smiley face. People next to me were noisy, but I managed to concitrate on my work. But as usual, didn’t finish it. I heard from Mintae that Mr. Maiques went to Japan!! wow.. lucky him.
